The release of FortiOS 7.0 dramatically expands the ability to provide consistent security covering hybrid networks, endpoints, and cloud deployments through the Fortinet Security Fabric.

More than 300 new features and updates were added to FortiOS, covering Fortinet\'s entire portfolio. Key enhancements that protect and enable users no matter where they are, highlighted below:


Secure Access Service Edge (SASE)

FortiOS 7.0 enables network security and functionality to be delivered anywhere users and devices are located through cloud-based consumption (Security as a Service). Fortinet is the only provider capable of providing constant protection at all edges of the network. Our FortiSASE solution offers advanced enterprise-grade security, eliminating security gaps without affecting users.


Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA)

FortiOS 7.0 offers new ZTNA functionality to enable controlled remote access to applications for remote users, home offices, and other locations. It\'s easier and faster to start than a traditional VPN, providing users with a better experience while providing a more detailed set of security protections. Users can automatically establish secure and reliable connections, whether the applications they need access to are located in the data center, private cloud, or public cloud.


FortiGuard video filtering security capability

FortiOS 7.0 introduces the industry\'s first video filtering solution. This feature adds granular protection to video-intensive content consumption patterns driven by today\'s remote users who work and learn from anywhere.



FortiOS 7.0 now provides adaptive WAN auto-recovery features for Fortinet\'s Secure SD-WAN to make the application experience more resilient. Fortinet also expanded passive monitoring of Software as a Service (SaaS) applications and multi-cloud applications to support users working from anywhere.


Network firewall

Fortinet\'s existing consolidation and acceleration features were improved with FortiOS 7.0 on the new FortiGate 7121F. This ultra-scalable chassis appliance offers payment options as it grows with the industry\'s highest threat protection performance. It also supports 400GbE for high-performance data center interconnectivity.


LAN Edge: 5G

FortiOS 7.0 extends network connectivity and security beyond the edge of the WAN with 5G and LTE innovations that improve wireless network performance and increase resiliency. With a diverse WAN and LTE wireless solution installed, organizations can achieve secure, scalable, high-availability network connectivity anywhere. It can function as a powerful backup solution or as a primary connection service in remote locations where other services are unreliable or unavailable.


Adaptive cloud security

Adaptive cloud security covers all public clouds, Software-as-a-service applications, and hybrid cloud deployments to deliver consistent, uninterrupted security that can track applications and data. To do this, FortiOS 7.0 provides centralized management, autoscale, and dynamic load balancing within and across multi-cloud environments. This optimizes the user experience and expands operations, security, and visibility in multi-cloud environments.
