Company responsible for the manufacture of wire products of the highest quality, with offices located in: Illinois, California, Texas, South Carolina and Pennsylvania. Before WMC hired us to digitize and automate the company's operations, their process was manual. The trucks were served in order of arrival, distributed in long lines. The average time spent in the plant was extremely high, which made the production process very inefficient, due to the limited space for storage of the finished product inventory.
Results
We developed an inventory and shipping logistics application called ShipApp, where the final product leaves the plant and is deposited in the “Production Container” and that is where the function of ShipApp begins. An application that controls the movement between warehouses to the different spaces or batches for storage according to the characteristics of the product. Subsequently, it is distributed by means of trucks, rails and barges.
All processes are tracked in real time and integrated with the company's ERP-SAP HANA. Additionally, it has 3 plant systems. ShipApp also manages the sales process up to the last minute.
Detail of the route once the transport has arrived:
At the main entrance of the plant a code is displayed, which contains details of the customer and the product to be withdrawn.
The data is entered into the system and the location of the material in the facilities is indicated.
The necessary information is received and validated through the ShipApp mobile application by the cargo personnel, for subsequent scanning and dispatch of the "handle-unit" material.
The transportation process is carried out in accordance with compliance standards, through monitoring, maximizing efficiency and minimizing the time spent in the facilities.
